150 kilometres from Nairobi, the bush opens up. The river runs close. The grounds are wide. And for three days, the only agenda is the one you build together.
Legacy Trail is Mara Nomads' Father & Son Expedition — designed not as a race to a finish line, but as a journey inward. Into the wild. Into each other.
Expect bush mornings, campfire evenings, and the unhurried pace that only the outdoors can give you. This is where boys become young men, and fathers remember why it all matters.
No Wi-Fi. No distractions. Just the trail, the fire, and the people who carry your name.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Legacy Trail is built for every man in the chain.
The Grandfather who has seen things and has stories the family hasn't heard yet.
The Father who knows his son is growing faster than he expected.
The Son who is ready — even if he doesn't know it yet.
Every generation earns their seat. Every seat tells a story.
Minimum age: 3 years. All participants must ride in a 4x4 vehicle.

No. * This is a men-only space. We have couples trips (Hearts & Horizons), Wild Queens Expedition (women only) and many other family expeditions. This isn't one of them. Legacy Trails Expedition is sacred men's and boys' territory. * Men only means men and boys only. We have family-friendly, couple trips and women-only trips throughout the year. Legacy Trails Expedition isn't one of them. * Many campsites do not allow pets, neither do we due to many reasons.

None required. Legacy Trails is designed to be the first expedition — the one that starts the story.
A capable 4x4 is mandatory. The route to Embu is tarmac-friendly, but camp terrain requires clearance. If you're unsure whether your vehicle qualifies, reach out before booking.

No. Legacy Trails has no finish line competition. The pace is communal, the spirit is cooperative.
A detailed packing list is sent upon confirmation of booking.
ABSOLUTELY. This is non-negotiable. Read the vehicle preparation checklist in the trip group. Get a full mechanical inspection. Test your 4WD system. Check brakes, fluids, suspension, electrical system. A breakdown isn't just inconvenient—it's dangerous.

Q: Where do we meet? Meeting point: Supreme Court, Taifa Road, Nairobi CBD - 📍 Click here for location Q: What time do we meet? A: 4:30 AM SHARP. We depart at 5:00 AM—NO DELAYS. Q: What if I'm late? A: You'll be left behind. We're not waiting. You can try to catch up on your own, but you'll miss the convoy briefing, and navigating Southern Kajiado solo is risky. Q: How far is the drive? A: Approximately 300km total (Nairobi to Embu and back).
A: Minimal. Toilets Showers Running water NO electricity (bring portable chargers/power banks) Cell signal available This is still RAW adventure, not a luxury lodge.
A: Self-catering. YOU bring ALL your own food and drinks. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks—everything.
Daytime: Lightweight, breathable clothing, hat, sunglasses Nighttime: Warm hoodie, warm pants, thick socks (Embu gets COLD) Footwear: Closed shoes/boots (for walking around camp at night—snakes, scorpions, insects exist) Rain gear: Waterproof jacket, gumboots (forecast shows possible rain)
