Practical Details:

Begin your journey at 6:00 am from Nairobi, taking the bustling Waiyaki Way to reach Nakuru and eventually Lake Bogoria. The 6-hour drive along a busy tarmac road will lead you to our first campsite.

Campsite Connection:

Your first-night haven awaits at Lake Bogoria on a beautiful grassy campsite nestled in the heart of Lake Bogoria's ecological zone. Share stories around the campfire under the African sky, with ostriches and monitor lizards as your campfire companions.

The second night will be spent at a conservancy, high up in the incredibly picturesque Tugen Hills and escarpments of the Central Rift. The campsite offers jaw-dropping views, indigenous trees, wildlife, and culturally significant sites.

The Grand Finale:

Embrace the warmth of camaraderie, laughter, and storytelling around the campfire beneath the starlit canvas of the Central Rift.

0530: Meet up at the assembly point ABC Place, Westlands, Nairobi 0600: We depart for Lake Bogoria via Kimende - Flyover - Kinungi route 0900: Arrive at Nakuru Town and stop to top up fuel tanks at the Shell on Geoffrey Kamau Avenue, then proceed to West Side Mall for a 1-hour health and breakfast break. 1030: Arrive at Mogotio Town for a 30-minute health break and to take photos at the Equator Crossing point. 1100: Proceed to the Lake Bogoria campsite. 1230: Arrive at the Lake Bogoria campsite. 1300: Set up and settle down. Enjoy a swim at their naturally heated spa, play football, etc. 17.00: Evening bonfire, dinner, banter etc.

0700: Wake up, groom breakfast and pack up 0830: We depart to our second campsite high up in the Tugen Hills via the most scenic Kabarnet route 1000: Arrive at Kabarnet Town and stop to top up fuel tanks, then proceed to the second campsite after a 1-hour health and breakfast break. 1100: Leave Kabarnet for the conservancy. 1330: Arrive at our campsite. 1300: Set up and settle down. Enjoy banter, play football etc. 17.00: Evening bonfire, dinner, banter etc.

1000: Depart Tugen Hills for the journey back via Mogotio and Nakuru. 1100: Top up fuel tanks at at TotalEnergies Nakuru Town. 1800: Arrive back at Nairobi.

The the group tour ends on the 3rd day from the start day and at Nairobi - basically, guys will be free to depart to their various destinations back on the 3rd day.

For this Self-drive trip, carry ✅food, ✅drinking water, ✅your own drinks, ✅snacks, ✅mattress, ✅tents, ✅utensils, ✅cooking equipment, ✅sleeping bag and pillow, ✅torch, ✅makeup bag, ✅camera, binoculars: for avid bird watchers, ✅passports or National ID, ✅phone charger, ✅bug repellent spray or lotion, ✅sunglasses, ✅appropriate clothing: for different climate which is cool, ✅swimwear for Lake Bogoria hot spa pool, ✅footwear: a pair of sandals, open shoes, and closed shoes, ✅a small gazebo or tarp or awning - in case of rain, ✅warm jacket and shuka, ✅umbrella, ✅toiletries bag containing soap or shower gel, ✅sponge, ✅shower cap, ✅tampons or sanitary towels etc. The campsites are safe. The campsites have facilities like toilets, showers and cleaning water, so everyone should be relatively comfortable. Carry dishwashing soap. The region is cool with cold mornings and evening, and warm day times. Carry appropriate clothing. Include a warm jacket, sweater or Shuka. But the climate in that place is cool. Although the weather forecast looks great, there is always a possibility of rain, due to the trip taking part on top of Tugen Hills and Rift Valley Escarpments. Carry shade such as gazebo, awning or tarp (hema) for shelter from rain at the campsites. Carry a plastic groundsheet (get them from Decathlon) to put under your tent.
