Itinerary
5:00 Assemble at International Life House Building at City Hall Way, CBD, Nairobi. Trip briefing and final checks. 5.30 Departure to Isiolo via Nanyuki 9:00 Have a brief stopover at Nanyuki town at the Equator point (where the Equator bisects the Northern and Southern Hemispheres), you will conduct an amateur experiment to determine how the Coriolis Effect works. 9:30 Quick stopover at Nanyuki CBDTown for early lunch and snacks. Thereafter proceed with your journey to Isiolo. 02:30 Arrive at Isiolo Town and proceed to the Campsite. Set up camp, enjoy a swim, have dinner, and listen to music, dance, tell jokes and stories, get to know your new friends while enjoying the bonfire that will be lit throughout the night.
05:00 Wake up for the intense day ahead, pack and groom yourself. 05:30 Have an early morning breakfast and check-out from the campsite. 6.00 Depart for Magado Crater. 08:30 Arrive at Magado and hike for a very short distance approximately 20-45 minutes down into the crater and the Lake. The Lake is a marvel of nature with its multi-coloured pools which are caused by the high evaporation of the alkaline waters. 10:30 Hike to the Truck, exit, and begin your journey back. 12:45 Quick stopover for lunch at Nanyuki, Cedar Mall. 30 minutes only. 04:00 Arrive in Nairobi.

This is an off-road adventure trip and clients will be staying at the campsites. Camping gear (tents and mattresses) will be provided except sleeping bags and pillows. The campsite has facilities like toilets, showers, and water, so you should be relatively comfortable. Carry: ✅Sleeping bag and pillow ✅Personal stuff ✅personal drinking water ✅Other drinks ✅Snacks ✅Camera ✅Binoculars, if you are avid bird watcher ✅Passports or National ID for entry formalities ✅Phone chargers ✅Bug repellent ✅Sunglasses
Since this is an Overland Truck trip, camping equipment (tents and mattresses) will be provided. But clients will be required to come with their own sleeping bags and pillows (if needed).
Good quality camping gear can be purchased cheaply from the Game stores, Carrefour, www.decathlon.co.ke; https://safarioutfitterske.com/; https://www.mustek.co.ke/; https://www.builders.co.ke/Outdoor/Camping/c/Camping; Jiji - https://jiji.co.ke/ (exercise caution – pay only after delivery and confirmation that the goods are in good shape and genuine) amongst others.
The registration fee is Kes 9,500.00 per person for the entire 2 days, 1 night trip. It covers: ✅ all transportation in a comfy overland truck ✅ camping fees for 1 night ✅Magado Crater entry fee ✅ all meals except day 1 breakfast and lunch, and day 2 dinner, ✅ all accommodation (tents and mattress) ✅ drinking water after meals ✅ packed lunch for day 2 ✅ bonfire.

✅Isiolo is typically hot. Carry appropriate clothing and swim wear for the swimming pool at Isiolo campsite if you intend to swim there. Carry 1 pair of sandals or open shoes. ✅This trip being on June, evenings and mornings will be cool. Include a warm jacket and shuka because mornings and evenings are chilly. ✅Carry also 1 pair of closed shoes. Hiking shoes if you have them for the short descent into the crater. Running shoes with good grip can also work.
