Palm Shade Resort is in Loiyangalani, nestled between Mount Kulal to the east and Lake Turkana to the west. It is an ideal starting place for trips across the Chalbi Desert, and a perfect place to rest after a hard journey from south  - Maralal or Laisamis, or north  - Sibiloi or Illeret, for any adventurous traveler.

Turkana Cultural Visits

The Turkana culture is vivified by a unique wealth of dresses, hairstyles, jewelry, sayings, tales, songs, craftsmanship and knowledge. A visit to Turkana Land offers you the chance to experience the fascinating pastoralist way of life.

Boat rides

Considered the most adventurous experience across the largest alkaline and desert lake to the Central Island Park also known as the Crocodile Island.

Sport fishing

Lake Turkana currently holds the largest population of giant Nile Perch in the world with a high probability of breaking the largest catch here.

Climb Mount Kulal

Ascending Mt. Kulal is one of the intriguing activities as you enter the thick rain forest home to Colobus and baboons as you make your way to the summit.

Campsite Policies
Eco- friendly practices at the campsite?
Single use plastic bottles, straws, glass soda bottles and any kind of single use plastics are not allowed inside the campsite or park. Please bring your own reusable water bottles and straws.
What to carry?
Camping gear will be required. The campsite has facilities like toilets, showers, and water. The campsite also has rooms available if you do not wish to camp.
Are cooking equipment's offered at the campsite?
The campsite does not provide cooking equipment, you have to come with your own equipment. If you do not wish to cook, the resort has a restaurant that offers meals on full board basis- breakfast, lunch, and dinner at an extra cost.
Is noise allowed at the campsite?
Noise is prohibited.
Cancellation Policy
If cancelled up to 7 days before arrival date no fee will be charged. 25% of the total price will be charged if you cancelled less than 14 days before arrival date. 50% of the total price will be charged if you cancel less than 7 days before arrival date. 100% of the total price will be charged if you cancel less than 3 days before arrival.
Electricity and water availability
Campsite has cleaning water. Electricity is available between 4.00 pm and 11.00 pm, and 4.00 am to 8.00 am. Electricty is from a generator. Bottled rinking water is available at the restaurant at cost.
